Ever wonder...what happened to that one crazy kid in school? ....you know the one

that 1 on the block That your parents never allowed you to "Hang Around"

Actually JD has been playing drums/percussion professionally for over 27 years
Living most of his life here in the Pacific Northwest - Touring the I-5 Seattle to Southern Cali. This is all that cat JD does plays drums.  From 2004 to 2009 owned / operated & engineered his recording studio The Katz Meow out of Longview, Washington. Running a small independent record label Katz Klawz Records with a few N.W. bands and solo artist signed to his indi label

JD started playing drums as a child, spent the next 6 years in school learning music theory and by age 17 playing professionally. 1st real band was a local rock band touring the N.W. through out the mid  eighties *ah yes the "butt rock" 1980's. The band                                                                           "Vicious Circle" - won 3 South West WA. "Battle of the Bands" thus getting studio time and winning a professional video shoot - Remember this was the 80's and even back then.... a $10,000 production video was cool but, not truly a Hollywood "Mtv" productions  type of quality.  Still it got local airtime during the commercial breaks on M tv.

Enter the Late 80s [JD has since put away the spandex, hairspray and makeup] I start playing in an all originals "Technical - Metal" band "Corruption" - somewhere in the genres of Extreme metal meets Progressive harder rock"  - With over 2 complete albums of original material we took it to next level and recorded our 1st Album "This is Corruption" - selling sadly just under 12,000 copys. *will try to find links to the music.

Enter the 90's - [still playing in various club/bar rock bands bands] In 1996   after becoming heavily influenced by Blues, Jazz and Funk JD hooks up with local legend bass player Steve Thompson just to "groove" and lay down some of our influences in "phatt pocket" jam sessions. By summer of 1996 we brought in Steve's brother Robert J Thompson - and this cat was laying it down on guitar! - By the end of that summer of 1996 there was a local buzz "Have you heard those Rockin Blues guys"? .... JD came up with a quick name "Code Blue" while playing with his sons TV animator program "My 1st Sony"  - Drawing pictures of school buses  joking around "Code Blue 1996 The short bus tour" ..... The name stuck, and immediately we were out showcasing some great Rockin/Blues. I believe the "code blue" name lives on [in Longview WA.] through Robert and Steve Thompson playing local gigs. * will try to post some links -

Through out the 2000's - JD played yet again in various rock bar/club bands -
Honorable mentions goes out to Coda & Threat - Fronted by Tony Parker * a local Longview guitar player * Now legendary for playing years and laying down some great guitar chops.

Currently - JD just signed up with "Walk the Walk" based out of Portland, Or. and JD says     "You know me?..... ok then you do know: I don't settle for "sub par" musicians or  "HACKS" -     I have played with some great musicians over my 27 year professional career and I am proud to be a part of what I believe to be ~ "Some of Portland's better musicians"! I believe in this band.... The dedication, the goals & the proper attitude combined with skills *that's called talent*..... Yeah! I believe were gonna make not only a splash BUT a huge wave.... I actually came up with the name "Walk the Walk" while sitting down one night after a successful practice thinking: " I like these catz! they not only "talk the talk "..    They certainly can  Walk the walk

KEEPING IT REAL ~ JD
